Your data stays in your browser where possible
Most of NeuroScope runs inside your own browser: datasets you load, the models you build and what they learn are computed and stored on your device (in this browser's storage), and are not sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data, or Project → Start afresh, deletes them.
Work that needs the NeuroScope server (bigger pretrained models, or when you choose the server) is sent to it for that session only. It is kept in memory while you use it and deleted when the session ends or goes idle.
Google Drive
If you choose Browse my Google Drive, Google asks you to let NeuroScope see and create only the files you
pick in Google's file picker, or that NeuroScope saves for you (the drive.file permission). NeuroScope cannot
see anything else in your Drive.
- A file you pick is downloaded by your browser straight from Google and used as your dataset or project; it is not uploaded to NeuroScope's server unless you choose to run that work on the server.
- When you save a project or model to Drive, your browser uploads it to a "NeuroScope" folder in your Drive.
- The access Google grants lasts about an hour, stays in the open page and is never stored or sent to our server. You can remove NeuroScope's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
NeuroScope's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or let people read it.
If you paste a Drive share link instead, the file is fetched through our server (browsers are not allowed to read Drive links directly) and passed to your browser without being kept.
Accounts and payments
If you buy server time you sign in with a code sent to your email; no password is stored. We keep your email address, your server-time balance, a daily summary of what used time, and your payment records. Payments are handled by Razorpay; we never see your card or bank details. We do not sell or share this information.
